How to protect a directory with Password in cPanel?

You can easily protect a directory in cPanel with password by using any of the below mentioned ways.

#1. From Directory Privacy feature

  • Login to cPanel.
  • Get inside Directory Privacy section.
  • On the next page, select the directory to which you want to add privacy password and proceed.
  • Select the name of the directory, Username and Password to access the directory outside cPanel.
  • Click over Save to save the changes.

#2. From File Manager section

  • Login to cPanel and get inside File Manager section.
  • List of all files and directories will appear on the next page.
  • Right click over the directory to which you want to add privacy and then click over Password Protect.
  • You will be directed to the same Directory Privacy section.
  • Enter the credentials here and Save.
